Our friends at Halo and Freekibble are breaking the big news we've been dying to share! Thanks to their generosity, Kitten Associates, is going to be the recipient of 2,500 cans of lovely grain free cat food-or almost 900 POUNDS of food! We're not only beyond thrilled to know we can feed our foster kittens for the rest of the year, but we'll also share our bounty with another local rescue! Stay tuned for photos of the arrival-due in on Tuesday, along with more about this marvelous company and their devotion to helping rescues and shelters across the Country!

King, Transformed

It's been a little over a month since King (Arthur) was rescued off the streets. This amazing creature survived a serious birth defect leaving him to hobble along on his front paws-his back paws never developed. His back legs are a and inch or two short and end in either a callus or a partial paw pad.

King, the day he was rescued.

But King is a survivor and nothing gets him down. While in foster care King has thrived. His once filthy coat is shiny and clean. His body is no longer too thin now that he's put on some weight. King's been to an Orthopedic Vet and given a clean bill of health. There's really nothing we need to do other than find King a great home.

King's amazing transformation. Yes, it IS the same cat!

King loves three things: People, Belly Rubs & Other Cats. We want to find him a very special home with all of those things, plus this home MUST have either wall to wall carpeting OR LOTS of big area rugs. King cannot easily get around on wood, ceramic or vinyl floors. The thicker surface of a rug or carpeting allows him to walk on all fours, instead of only on his front legs.

If you're interested in giving a VERY sweet, loving, 1 year old kitty a home, please contact us at info@kittenassociates.org for more information.

Our Most Emotional Rescue Ever!

Even though we don't' have a shelter and know it will be a long time before we can find him a home, once we heard about a kitty with no hind paws, living on the streets in a bad neighborhood, we had to jump into action.

Meet King Arthur-or King, as we call him. He's a little over a year old and has had a very tough life living at a Palette Factory. We don't know if he's deformed or survived a terrible accident, but this cat has been getting around on his front legs for most of his life.

When we rescued, King yesterday, we thought he would be feral, but turns out he was just the opposite. All this cat wants is love, a safe place to live and some good food.

©2012 Maria S. Our first look at King in motion. It's sad to watch but so very sweet at the end. You will fall in love with this boy! Beware!

We're grateful that we can provide that for King, but due to his condition we're going to have to get him to a Vet for tests and x-rays and possibly a specialist or two. We want King to have the best life possible and to be comfortable and pain-free and we're hoping you can help!

If you'd like to help with King's upcoming Vet care, and care for another kitty at the Palette factory we'd like to rescue, please use the Chipin, above. Your donation is Tax Deductible. Thank you!

Help Pom Pom Walk

We tried. We tried so hard, but now we need you.

Pom Pom Pomegranate has no chance of walking without discomfort unless we remove her back left leg. It’s taken us 10 months, specialist visits, tests, treatments, and zillions of hours of physical therapy to come to this decision. We need all of you to make it happen.

We need to raise $6,000. by March 9th.

Give Pom Pom the gift of less pain and a chance to walk more easily.

Why Now?

Pom Pom is almost a year old. Her body will not improve beyond what we've been able to do for her.

Imagine you have to keep your leg stretched out. You can’t bend it. You can’t support yourself on your foot because it bends backward at an awkward angle. The weight of the malformed leg forces your back to twist unnaturally. It causes shocks of nerve pain. How can you live like that?

Pom Pom can’t continue to live like this.

We know there are surgical risks. We’ve done extra testing to be as safe as we can be. Will this surgery make everything perfect? No, but her back leg hinders her mobility, so we feel this is her best option. We have to try for Pom Pom.

We can do it with you by our side.

Your gift is tax-deductible as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Order your Pet Food at Chewy.com and Kitten Associates, Inc. will earn donations!
