#GivingTuesday

Kitten Associates has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Kitten Associates Holiday Fundraising Drive begins this year on December 1, in partnership with #GivingTuesday, which is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. It's the kick-off to the holiday giving season and inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

Kitten Associates is a 501(c)3 nonprofit and is 100% volunteer based, so all donations go to providing care to the rescued cats and kittens in our program.

We also support our community in addition to doing cat rescue. Through our new Cat Behavior Counseling Program, launching later this month, it will allow pet parents, other rescues, Vets or anyone who has a cat behavior issue, to get help with their cats for no charge. We do this so that cats don't have to lose their homes when a behavior issue occurs.

We're committed to improving cats lives whether it be through education, appropriate nutrition, or going the distance when a cat in our care has special needs or falls ill, but we can't do our life-saving work without the support of people like you.

Let's make this #GivingTuesday the best one ever! If you'd like to donate, you can click on the "Donate Today" image to the right, or send a donation directly through PayPal to our address: info@kittenassociates.org or you can send a check made out to: "Kitten Associates" P.O. Box 354, Newtown, CT 06470-0354.

If you'd like to provide much-needed food or toys, please visit our Amazon.com Wish List for a selection of items at a variety of price points.

The company you work for may also match your donation, so make sure to get them involved so you can share your passion!

The Accidental Feral

Poor Barry. Over a year ago he began to visit our home. We checked with neighbors and found out that one was feeding him, but didn't claim ownership. Since we already have a feeding station for feral cats we offered up some food to Barry, too. He came to visit every few days. We even got him a heated cat hutch that he shared with our feral kitty, Bronte last winter.

This spring we realized Barry needed more than good food since he was vocalizing a lot. He also tried to break through a screen window to get at our cats. It was time to make sure that Barry was neutered so we set out to trap him.

We were finally able to trap Barry in September. He was neutered by our friends at Nutmeg Spay/neuter Clinic and tested for FeLV and FIV (he was negative for both). Barry also got de-flead and de-wormed and we found out he weighed 13 pounds. Barry is a BIG, STRONG cat. We think he's about 3 years old.

Barry in the Garage

Barry spent a few weeks in isolation to make sure he wasn't sick and when he was ready we brought him indoors. We realized early on that Barry wasn't feral. He must have been dumped and lost his way. Now we're making sure he's ready to be adopted, but until then, he has a home with us.

Barry 11 15 400

Barry's a big, chatty cat. He loves to play, but he's so big he's a bit awkward when he runs. Barry's had his last winter outdoors. We want him to be safe, loved and keep that big belly full in a loving home.

Stay tuned to our page for updates on when Barry will be ready for adoption or just contact us at info@kittenassociates.org if you can't wait!

Help Pom Pom Walk

We tried. We tried so hard, but now we need you.

Pom Pom Pomegranate has no chance of walking without discomfort unless we remove her back left leg. It’s taken us 10 months, specialist visits, tests, treatments, and zillions of hours of physical therapy to come to this decision. We need all of you to make it happen.

We need to raise $6,000. by March 9th.

Give Pom Pom the gift of less pain and a chance to walk more easily.

You can use PayPal

Venmo @KittenAssociates

Checks: made out to Kitten Associates, P.O. Box 354, Newtown, CT 06470-0354

Why Now?

Pom Pom is almost a year old. Her body will not improve beyond what we've been able to do for her.

Imagine you have to keep your leg stretched out. You can’t bend it. You can’t support yourself on your foot because it bends backward at an awkward angle. The weight of the malformed leg forces your back to twist unnaturally. It causes shocks of nerve pain. How can you live like that?

Pom Pom can’t continue to live like this.

We know there are surgical risks. We’ve done extra testing to be as safe as we can be. Will this surgery make everything perfect? No, but her back leg hinders her mobility, so we feel this is her best option. We have to try for Pom Pom.

We can do it with you by our side.

Your gift is tax-deductible as we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Order your Pet Food at Chewy.com and Kitten Associates, Inc. will earn donations!
